About

Mary’s Kitchen Pantry Mobile Pop-Up feeds, clothes, and provides services for the hungry and homeless population in an effort to support and enhance their quality of life. Mary’s Kitchen Pantry Mobile Pop-Up is powered by hard-working volunteers who deeply care for the people they are serving and who treat everyone as equals. All services are conducted in a manner intended to show respect to, and preserve the dignity of, individuals receiving help.

In 1984, 82-year-old Mary McAnena helped a homeless woman in Hart Park in Orange, California. From then on, she dedicated herself to helping the homeless men, women, and children in the area. Mary’s home became the headquarters for her new organization, where volunteers transported food to Hart Park that was cooked on Mary’s small four-burner stove. In 2025, the kitchen has now rebranded itself as a farmer’s market style Mobile Pop-Up food pantry service,

With the “New” Farmer’s Market Style, a food sustainability initiative has been created, which aims to reduce hunger and waste. Today over twenty tons of food are rescued per month, and this abundance is shared to more than 16,000 food insecure people who need it.

Mary’s Kitchen Pantry Mobile Pop UP delivers the food to those communities that need it twice a day.

Volunteers are always welcome. Volunteer opportunities include preparing and serving meals, packing sack lunches, and sorting donated clothes, among other things.
