Volunteer Network OC Welcomes New Board Members

As Volunteer Network OC is continues to grow, we are excited to introduce our two new board members, Nashita Pagdiwalla Dastur and Valerie Venegas.

Nashita Pagdiwall Dastur was born and raised in India. In her teens, she moved to Sydney, Australia and went on to get an MBA from The University of Technology, Sydney. In her early-twenties, she moved to Irvine, CA.

Nashita, is a life coach for teen girls, which she finds extremely rewarding. She practices yoga every single day and has been a yoga instructor for over a decade. Nashita founded Kind Karma Family Yoga in Orange County offering adult, children, family and special needs yoga classes. She incorporates Yoga, Meditation, EFT and Inner Child Work into her life coach sessions to help clients navigate their difficult teen years and beyond.

Nashita still lives in Irvine with her beloved husband, children and dogs. She loves cooking for her family and spending time in nature. She is a woman of faith and is passionate about being of service. She’s very active in her local community, bringing people together to organize fundraisers and collect resources for families in need.

Valerie Venegas is a dedicated volunteer in the community and has been since she was in high school, starting with the American Red Cross.

She has a deep conviction for serving the underrepresented in our community specifically with the homeless and those with food insecurities.

Valerie brings to the foundation over 30 years of experience in events management, fundraising and college-level student support program management. She is currently the Manager of Scholarships and Events at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, volunteers with StandUp for Kids on a weekly basis and is a member of the Santiago Canyon College Foundation Board . She is also involved in the Boy Scouts of America at the local, county, and national level.

Valerie is looking forward to reaching out to the college students in Orange County and educating them on the Volunteer Network OC App and website. She is extremely excited about the upcoming Gala and participated in last year’s First Annual Gala.

When not volunteering or working, Valerie enjoys travelling with her husband Joe, spending time with grandchildren, hiking, camping and being in nature. She has been married 32 years and has four children and three grandchildren.

Nashita and Valerie are already involved in helping us with our upcoming Gala and Auction which will be a virtual event this year on November 14 at 7:00 pm.

There are so many exciting things coming up. We can’t wait to see what the future holds. Thank you Nashita and Valerie for being a part of our team.
