Esther Shin, New Volunteer

Volunteer Network OC is so proud to introduce Esther Shin.

Esther will be a part of our volunteer team working on various projects through the summer.

Having graduated from UCI with a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior, Cum Laude, Esther is currently employed as an administrative assistant in a private medical practice in Irvine and is also a case manager at Special Service for Groups Alliance, a mental health facility.

Esther is very dedicated to volunteering and helping others. Here are some other organizations she has volunteered with.

  • Children’s Program Intern at Human Options, a domestic violence shelter
  • Marketing Assistant and Hotline Advocate at
Thomas House Shelter, a homeless shelter
    serving families
  • ICU/CCU Liaison at Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, supporting patients, families and nursing staff.

With aspirations in social work, Esther told us that her desire is to help people (especially low-income families) in the community who lack resources, whether they be financial, emotional or psychological.

At Volunteer Network OC, we believe a community that cares about one another, takes time to help one another and has compassion for the plight of others, is a stronger, healthier community. Esther shares that same philosophy ” I would like to learn how social service organizations and non-profit organizations function individually and cohesively, how to connect members of the community to relevant and rewarding experiences, and how I can contribute to society to grow and understand the field of social work.”

Thank you so much for your dedication to helping others Esther. We look forward to working with you and are so happy that you are a part of our VNOC team.
